In the monsoon sunrise, the sky above became a flurry of iridescent insect wings, bodiless and spiraling gently to the earth. The wall-mount sculptures that followed address fractured motion and physical levity. Each composition consists of hundreds of doubled photographic images, which are pinned to the wall in an attempt to map what has transpired. The transparent imagery of the web-like lattice of insect wings plays a central role in each installation. The implied potential of flight is ultimately unattainable. Yet, each framed image and its shadows flutter to life as the viewer passes by.

A subset of the Swarm series, Pneuma incorporates the magnified imagery of the individual cells of a beehive, creating a new form of cell division that resembles bacteria and spores. Structures that once fostered life now suggest a life cycle that has been radically altered or completed, recycled into the environment as airborne particulates.
